MLB Fan's Shocking Fall at Pirates vs. Cubs Game

  PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania — A man was taken to the hospital Wednesday night after he fell more than 20 feet from the outfield stands during a Major League Baseball game at PNC Park, reports say. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports the man fell from the 21-foot Clemente wall onto the warning track in right field during the seventh inning of the Pirates game against the Chicago Cubs. Shocked players and coaches immediately called for the game to be stopped so the man could be helped, the Post-Gazette reports. Training staffs from both teams tended to the man for about five minutes before he was carted off the field. The team issued a statement shortly after the game ended saying the man was transported to Allegheny General Hospital. “Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family,” the statement says. Pittsburgh Pirates Fan's Terrifying Fall: 21 Feet Drop

  A baseball fan was hospitalized after falling from the stands above the outfield wall at PNC Park in Pittsburgh during the Pirates’ game against the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday, April 30. The man, who has not been identified yet, fell over the railing during the seventh inning, after the Pirates’ Andrew McCutchen hit the ball through the infield. The man fell about 20 feet, landing on the warning track during play. Trainers, EMTs and police rushed to treat the man quickly. The fan was put on a stretcher and carted off the field. Another fan jumped from the lower part of the outfield wall to help the fan, reports KDKA. It’s not clear if the second person was related to the man. The man was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition, Pittsburgh Public Safety said in a statement. It typified an anthemic style of song but their unpretentious and down-to-earth approach earned loyal followings on both sides of the Atlantic. Peters lived with blood cancer for 30 years, following his diagnosis of lymphoma in 1995, and later having chronic lymphocytic leukaemia twice. He was born in Prestatyn, Denbighshire, and lived in Dyserth with his wife of 39 years, Jules - who had fought her own cancer battle - and their sons Dylan, 20 and Evan, 18.   Former world title challenger Jonathan Penalosa lost his battle with colon cancer on Monday night at the age of 57. Penalosa was part of the famed Penalosa family that produced two separate two-division titleholders – Jonathan was older than his brother Gerry and younger than Dodie Boy Penalosa Snr. Jonathan was also part of the training team of Manny Pacquiao, often holding pads for the eight-division world champion at his gym in General Santos City, Philippines.  Preston Ordone, a 2-year-old affectionately known as “Okay Baby” on TikTok, has died following a car accident involving his parents, according to family and authorities. In a news release shared on Facebook, the Louisiana State Police confirmed that the fatal accident occurred on April 24 in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana. At the time, Preston and his parents, Katelynn and Jaelan Ordone, were traveling in a 2011 Ford F-150. According to the release, “for reasons still under investigation,” the vehicle was moving on Interstate 12 when it veered off the roadway and struck a tree. The release stated that Katelynn and Jaelan Ordone were properly restrained, suffered serious injuries and were transported to local hospitals.  A student at Roger Williams University in Rhode Island died while studying abroad.  RWU made the announcement on Sunday with the following statement:  The RWU community is heartbroken to announce the passing of Paige Moreau, a beloved member of the Class of 2026.  Paige was in Florence, Italy, on a study abroad program when she experienced a medical emergency, which tragically resulted in her death on April 26.  Paige was actively involved in the RWU campus community, making a lasting impact as an Architecture student, her role as an RA in the Housing Office, and her contributions as a Building Manager with SPLO. Her leadership, mentorship, and spirit touched the lives of many. Paige will be deeply missed. As we mourn this profound loss, we stand together sending messages of love and support to her friends and family.
